沢蟹は、清流に生息して、褐色の甲羅(こうら)で横這(よこば)いに動き、見るものを楽しませてくれる。その可愛らしさを表してみた。
清流のところには山葵(わさび)が自生していて、葉に日が当り緑が透けて美しい。 |

| 'The Sawagani, or river crab, inhabits crystal clear waters. Crawling along sidewise
in its brown shell, it never fails to amuse those who see it. I tried to
capture its loveliness in the painting. Japanese horseradish grows wild
at the water's edge, the sunshine giving its green leaves a translucent
glow - a beautiful sight indeed. |
